Collection: Catalytic Converters

Catalytic converters are critical components of the vehicle's exhaust system that help reduce harmful emissions. They are designed to convert toxic pollutants from the engine's exhaust gases into less harmful substances before they are released into the atmosphere. Catalytic converters contain a catalyst, typically made of platinum, palladium, & rhodium, which facilitates chemical reactions to convert pollutants like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, & unburned hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide, nitrogen, & water vapor. This process occurs through oxidation, reduction, & the use of precious metals as catalysts. Catalytic converters are mandated by law in many countries to comply with emissions regulations & ensure cleaner air. They are typically installed between the engine & the muffler in the exhaust system. It's important to maintain the catalytic converter in good condition to ensure proper emissions control & overall vehicle performance. In case of a malfunction or failure, replacement with a compatible & compliant catalytic converter is necessary.
