Collection: Wheel Speed Sensors

Wheel speed sensors, also known as ABS (anti-lock braking system) sensors, are essential components that monitor the rotational speed of the wheels. They are typically located near the wheel hub or on the brake caliper assembly. Wheel speed sensors work in conjunction with the ABS system to detect wheel lock-up during braking & prevent skidding. These sensors use magnetic or hall effect technology to measure the speed of each wheel & transmit the data to the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU then adjusts the brake pressure for each wheel individually to maintain optimal traction & stability. Wheel speed sensors are vital for the proper functioning of the ABS system, enabling it to intervene when necessary & prevent wheel lock-up. If a wheel speed sensor fails or becomes damaged, it can result in the ABS system malfunctioning, leading to compromised braking performance. Therefore, it is crucial to regularly inspect & maintain the wheel speed sensors to ensure their accuracy & reliability. If a faulty sensor is detected, it should be replaced with a compatible & high-quality sensor to restore the proper functioning of the ABS system & ensure safe driving.
