Collection: Engine Harmonic Balancers

An engine harmonic balancer, also known as a crankshaft damper or vibration damper, is a crucial component of the engine's rotating assembly. It is designed to reduce & control vibrations & torsional forces generated by the engine's operation. The harmonic balancer is typically attached to the front end of the crankshaft & consists of an outer ring, an inner hub, & a rubber or elastomer material in between. The rubber element acts as a dampening medium, absorbing & dissipating vibrations & harmonics produced by the engine. The harmonic balancer helps to prevent excessive wear & damage to the engine components, such as the crankshaft, timing belt or chain, & accessory drive system. It also contributes to a smoother & quieter engine operation. Over time, the rubber material in the harmonic balancer can deteriorate or fail, leading to an imbalance & increased vibrations. In such cases, it is important to replace the harmonic balancer to maintain the proper functioning & longevity of the engine.
