The differential is a vital component of a car's drivetrain system, specifically in vehicles with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. In a rear-wheel drive car, the differential splits the power evenly between the two rear wheels, while in an all-wheel drive car, it distributes power to both the front & rear wheels according to traction conditions. Regular maintenance, including changing the differential fluid, is essential to ensure its proper operation & longevity. Upgraded differentials, such as limited-slip differentials or locking differentials, are available for enhanced traction & performance in specific driving conditions.
