Cooling Fans

Cooling fans play a crucial role in maintaining optimal engine temperature & preventing overheating. These fans are typically located behind the radiator & are responsible for drawing air through the radiator to cool the engine coolant. There are two main types of car cooling fans: electric fans & mechanical fans. Electric fans are driven by an electric motor & are controlled by a temperature sensor or a switch. They can operate independently of the engine, allowing for precise control over cooling. Mechanical fans, on the other hand, are driven by the engine's crankshaft through a belt & clutch system. They spin at a speed proportional to the engine RPM. Cooling fans may have single or dual configurations, with dual fans offering increased cooling capacity. Additionally, some vehicles may also feature auxiliary fans, which provide supplemental cooling during extreme conditions or at low speeds. It's important to ensure that cooling fans are properly functioning, as any failure or malfunction can lead to engine overheating & potential damage. Regular maintenance, such as checking fan operation & cleaning debris from the fan blades, is crucial for optimal cooling system performance.
