Short Blocks

A short block engine refers to the lower half of an engine assembly that includes the engine block, crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons. Unlike a long block, which includes additional components such as cylinder heads, camshafts, and valvetrain components, a short block is essentially the core structure of an engine. Short block engines are commonly used in engine rebuilds or replacements, where the existing cylinder heads and other top-end components are reused or replaced separately. They offer a cost-effective solution for repairing or upgrading an engine while retaining some of the original components.
