Valve Stems / Caps

Valve stems & caps are small but important components that play a significant role in maintaining proper tire inflation & preventing air leaks. The valve stem is a metal or rubber tube that protrudes through the wheel & connects to the tire's inner chamber. It allows for the inflation & deflation of the tire by providing a pathway for air to enter or exit. The valve cap, on the other hand, is a protective cover that screws onto the valve stem. It serves multiple purposes, including keeping dirt, dust, & moisture out of the valve stem, preventing air leakage, & acting as a visual indicator of a secure valve. Some valve caps also feature additional functions, such as built-in valve core tools for easy removal or pressure indicators that change color based on tire pressure. It is important to ensure that valve stems are in good condition, free from damage or corrosion, & that the valve caps are securely tightened. Regularly checking & maintaining valve stems & caps helps to promote optimal tire performance, prevent air loss, & extend tire life.
