Block-off Plate for Fridge Vent [Vanagon Westy]

It has become common practice to delete the poor performing Dometic 182B refrigerator from the Vanagon camper, and replace it with a more modern all electric unit, or use the space for storage. We have a very nice conversion kit that adds shelving to this location, and it INCLUDES this block-off plate, but if you have come up with your own solution, and simply need to block off the exterior exhaust vent from the elements, you can now buy this aluminum plate separately.

Installation is simple: Detailed fridge removal instructions can be found in the Bentley Repair Manual, but here is a quick version. Remove the exterior stainless flue cover to release the flue from the vehicle body. Remove the fridge from the inside. Then, install this plate under the stainless vent cover assembly (or run just the plate and rubber gasket), and re-fasten to the vehicle.
