Stop Breaking OEM Axle Bolts – Upgrade to Proven SMG x ARP Strength!

Developed by SMG Speed Shop in partnership with ARP, this complete rear axle bolt kit replaces the factory hardware with stronger ARP chromoly bolts, hardened washers, improved tool engagement, and increased thread engagement for high-horsepower street and race applications.

SMG has sold more than 1,150 of these kits over approximately six years. This is the same hardware used on our own vehicles and installed in applicable SMG and North Texas High Performance customer builds, including cars equipped with OEM, DSS, and GForce axles.

One proven size for every application listed below

There is only one version of this kit. The supplied bolts are intentionally longer than the factory bolts to provide greater thread engagement. When properly installed, the threaded end may protrude slightly through the rear of the CV axle’s threaded casting. This is normal, intentional, and does not indicate that the bolts are incorrect.

Installation notes

• Clean and inspect the CV axle flange threads before installation. The previously unused exposed threads near the rear of the through-hole may contain dirt, corrosion, coating, or imperfectly formed threads.
• If necessary, carefully chase the threads completely through with the correct thread chaser or tap, then clean away all debris before installing the bolts.
• Apply blue medium-strength thread locker to clean threads.
• Install exactly one supplied hardened washer on each bolt. Do not stack additional washers to compensate for the bolt length.
• Thread each bolt through until its supplied washer seats firmly against the axle flange, then torque it to specification.
• If a bolt encounters abnormal resistance before the washer seats, stop and clean or chase the threads; do not use an impact to force it through an obstruction.

Each kit includes everything required for both rear axles:

• (12) ARP chromoly bolts
• (12) hardened washers

Specifications:

• Drive size: 12mm internal hex
• Recommended torque: 54 ft-lb (73.2 Nm)*
• Compatible with OEM and most aftermarket replacement axles, including DSS and GForce applications using the factory-style CV axle flange
