Product Description

Correct driveshaft geometry on your lowered BMW E30, E36, E46, or E9X chassis with this premium 6mm driveshaft spacer kit, precision laser-cut from high-quality steel for permanent durability and proper drivetrain alignment. When you lower an E36, E46, or E9X chassis, the modified suspension geometry creates unwanted space between the driveshaft roller and spider inside the driveshaft housing — causing the inboard CV joint to wear unevenly under load and developing the characteristic clunking, vibration, and premature axle failure that frustrates lowered BMW owners. This spacer kit corrects the geometry by repositioning the driveshaft to its proper alignment relative to the lowered differential, dramatically reducing wear on the inboard joints and preventing the costly axle damage that develops when geometry correction is ignored. A highly recommended upgrade for any lowered BMW E36, E46, or E9X chassis using the 188 differential.

Features:
  • Sturdy and durable construction – 6mm high-quality steel material delivers exceptional strength and dimensional accuracy
  • Laser-cut precision – ensures high accuracy for a perfect fit to factory driveshaft mounting specifications
  • Galvanized surface finish – delivers superior corrosion resistance and abrasion protection for sustained underbody and weather exposure
  • Reduces wear on inboard joints – correct driveshaft geometry protects the inboard CV joints from the uneven loading caused by lowered suspension
  • Professionally designed for modified suspension – specifically engineered to correct drivetrain geometry when lowering the vehicle
  • Complete kit – includes both spacers and extension bolts needed for proper installation
Specifications:

Fitment:

Critical fitment requirements – verify your differential type before ordering:

  • Will ONLY fit 188 differentials (LK=86mm drive flange output)
  • Will NOT fit 168 (small case) or 210 (large case) differentials
  • Will NOT fit M3, 1M, or 4-cylinder engine variants
  • BMW 3 Series E30 325i (1986 – 1992)
  • BMW 3 Series E36 323i / 325i / 328i (1992 – 1999) – Excludes M3 and 4-cylinder variants
  • BMW 3 Series E46 323i / 325i / 328i (1999 – 2005) – Excludes M3, 330i, and 4-cylinder variants
  • BMW 3 Series E90 / E91 / E92 / E93 325i / 328i / 330i / 335i (2005 – 2012) – Excludes M3 and 4-cylinder variants
  • BMW Z4 E85 2.5i / 3.0i (2003 – 2008)
  • Confirm vehicle model, chassis code, engine variant, and differential code (188 only) before ordering
Contents:
  • 2x 6mm Driveshaft Spacers (laser-cut steel, galvanized)
  • 1x Set of Extension Bolts
Benefits:
  • Corrects drivetrain geometry on lowered BMW chassis – addressing the root cause of inboard CV joint wear that develops on lowered E36 / E46 / E9X vehicles
  • Prevents premature axle failure – uneven CV joint loading from incorrect driveshaft geometry is a leading cause of axle replacement on lowered BMW chassis. This spacer kit eliminates the root cause
  • Reduces clunking, binding, and vibration symptoms commonly experienced on lowered BMW chassis – often misdiagnosed as differential or transmission issues but typically caused by driveshaft geometry
  • Laser-cut precision and 6mm thickness deliver consistent, repeatable installation results matching factory tolerances
  • Galvanized finish protects against corrosion in the harsh underbody environment, maintaining structural integrity over long-term exposure to road salt, moisture, and weather
  • Significant cost savings compared to repeated CV joint or complete axle replacement that develops when geometry correction is ignored
  • Essential maintenance product for any serious lowered BMW build – widely recommended in the E36 / E46 / E9X enthusiast community as a preventive maintenance must-have
Important Application Notes:
  • Not suited for drifting applications – this spacer kit is designed for street and performance lowering applications. Drift use places sustained extreme loads on the drivetrain that exceed the design intent of these spacers
  • Stack option for severe lowering: If the distance between the half-shaft and flange is too large after installing one spacer per side, you can stack two spacers per side for increased compensation. Verify clearance and bolt thread engagement when stacking
  • Existing axle damage cannot be repaired by this kit: If your axles are already damaged or past their mechanical service limits, you may continue to experience noise, binding, or vibration even after spacer installation. In this case, axle replacement is the appropriate remedy
Installation Notes:
  • Differential code verification required: This kit fits 188 differentials only (LK=86mm drive flange). It will NOT fit 168 small case or 210 large case differentials. Identify your differential code before ordering – check the casting marks on the differential housing or consult vehicle service documentation
  • M3 / 1M / 4-cylinder exclusion: This kit does NOT fit M3, 1M, or 4-cylinder engine variants which use different differential and driveshaft configurations
  • Properly support the rear of the vehicle on jack stands rated for the vehicle weight before beginning installation – never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack
  • Mark the original orientation of the driveshaft to differential flange before disassembly to ensure correct reassembly
  • Loosen and remove the factory driveshaft mounting bolts – inspect for damage and replace if necessary
  • Position the spacer between the driveshaft and differential flange, aligning the bolt holes carefully
  • Install the included extension bolts through the spacer to maintain proper thread engagement – do not reuse factory bolts as they will be too short to provide adequate engagement
  • Tighten all driveshaft mounting hardware to factory torque specifications using a calibrated torque wrench
  • Test driveshaft operation by rotating the wheel manually before lowering the vehicle – verify no binding or interference
  • Test drive at low speeds first and listen for any unusual noises before normal operation
  • Professional installation strongly recommended unless you have experience with rear differential and driveshaft service procedures
  • If unsure about compatibility with your specific BMW variant, differential type, or engine configuration, contact our team with your year, model, chassis code, engine variant, and differential code (must be 188) before ordering
Warranty:
  • 12-month standard warranty from date of purchase
  • Contact our support team for assistance with any issues
